West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity built a four-run lead in the sixth inning and then held off Sullivan’s charge for a 5-4 victory on Tuesday. Sullivan scored three runs in the failed comeback. Asia Povlin, Carly Brown, and Madison Robbins came through with RBIs to lead the rally.

Sullivan fired up the offense in the first inning. Sullivan scored one run when Abigail Wardell singled.

West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity evened things up at one in the top of the third inning. Hannah Lewis grounded out, scoring one run.

West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Lyric Krause singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Rhiana Maples was credited with the victory for West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity. She surrendered three runs on six hits over five and a third innings, striking out three. Sam Bryan threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Bryan recorded the last five outs to earn the save for West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity.

Mariah Wills led things off in the circle for Sullivan. She surrendered four runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Maclynne Steele threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity racked up 11 hits on the day. Emma Stevens, Lewis, and Krause each managed multiple hits for West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity. Stevens went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity in hits.

Sydnee Hester led Sullivan with two hits in four at bats.
