Even though West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity gave up four runs in the fifth inning, they still defeated Clay City 15-7 on Friday. Hofman and Swearmgent each had RBIs in the frame.

Bats blistered as West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity collected 19 hits and Clay City tallied nine in the high-scoring game.

West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity got things started in the first inning. West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity scored on a stolen base during Lyric Krause’s at bat. Then Krause singled.

West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity tallied six runs in the sixth inning. Alex Barnaby, Rhiana Maples, Samantha Seventy, Hannah Lewis, and Mary-Paige Mason each had RBIs in the big inning.

Kenzie Rice led the West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity to victory in the circle. She lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out five. Seventy threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Elyssa Secrest took the loss for Clay City. She went two and a third innings, allowing eight runs on 11 hits, striking out one and walking one.

West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity tallied 19 hits on the day. Krause, Mason, Maples, Lewis, Barnaby, Rice, and Taylor Miller each managed multiple hits for West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity. Krause led West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity with four hits in five at bats. West Vigo Lady Vikes Varsity stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Lewis led the way with two.

Clay City racked up nine hits on the day. Ledgerwood and Charly Keohler each racked up multiple hits for Clay City.
