Last night the Lady Vikings defeated Clay City and North Central in a three way track and field meet. It was an amazing team effort as everyone on the team contributed in scoring. The lady Vikings won all three relays. The 4×1 relay consisted of Jayc ee Dyer, Callie Brown, Kaelyn Hensley and Hailey Kane, the 4×4 relay consisted of Corynn DeGroote, Maci Easton, Kaelyn Hensley and Abby Scott, and the 4×8 relay team of Brown, Easton, Jazmyn Maurer and Laney Saude. Individually Keelyn Lopez won the shot, Krista Kane the disc, Hailey Kane the Pole Vault, DeGroote the 400, 200 and Long jump. Also, scoring was Scott in the HJ with a 4th place finish with a jump of 4’6 and 2nd in the 1600, H. Kane 2nd in the 100H and 300H, Dyer 3rd place finishes in the 100 & 200, Hensley 4th in the 100, K. Kane 2nd in the SP, and Lopez 4th in Disc, Gabby Buckallew 3rd in long jump and Sadie Herring and Saude 2nd and 3rd in the 3200 and Easton 2nd in the 400. This team is just beginning to tap into their true potential. This will be an exciting team to watch the remained of the season and the years to come. The ladies will be back in action Tuesday at home against Marshall.
