Lisa Ridenour (2012)

2012 Inductee

Mrs. Lisa (Ridenour) White attended West Vigo High School from 1982-1986, participating in track all four years. She was state finalist her junior and senior year, placing 5th in the 100m Hurdles and 2nd in the 300m hurdles. She received the State Mental Attitude Award in track and field her senior year as well as the McMillan Award for Most Outstanding Female Athlete in Vigo County. She was also the National Junior Olympic 400m Hurdle Champion in 1985 and runner-up in 1986. Her records in the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m events at West Vigo remain unbroken.
She attended Indiana University on a track scholarship. She won a Big Ten Championship while earning a B.A. in Telecommunications. After a short time living in France, she settled in Denver, Colorado where she currently lives with her two daughters, Giselle (16) and Jasmine (12).
Lisa says she is extremely grateful for the opportunities track gave her. “Track allowed me to travel the U.S. extensively at a young age, giving me a feeling of self-worth, confidence, and accomplishment that I would not have felt otherwise. It absolutely shaped the course of my life and the person I am today. I will always look back fondly on my athletic career at WVHS and the coaches and staff who encouraged and supported me.”
