After high school, she attended Indiana State University on a Softball scholarship where she earned a degree in special education. Her softball accolades include single game, single season and career stolen bases, and also was awarded the Fern Price softball award in 1993 and 1994, along with a Top Ten Junior award. Amy and her husband of fifteen years, Scott, live in Indianapolis where she currently teaches special education at Sanders School.
Amy has many fond memories from her years at West Vigo. “My fondest memory of high school athletics was the 1990 volleyball season. It is rare to find a team that meshed like we did. It was an absolute joint effort to become the team we were. The encouragement that everyone offered with very little negativity was amazing. That team was a model of what a team should be.”
Amy would like to thank those who motivated her through the years: her parents, Coach Hatcher, Coach Barrett, Mike Miller, Dave Voils, Coach Brackall, her teammates, and friends Bridget Miller, Jeni Smith, Amy Atterson, Tonya Notter, Penny Mott, Mandi Cooper and Nikki Hargis.
