Vikings News · Boys Soccer Sectional Thriller

The Viking Boys soccer team played a tough Monrovia team on Tuesday night in the opening round of Sectionals. The Vikings opened up the scoring in the first half with a nice tap in by Andy Myers, Monte Walker had the assist. At half West Vigo was still winning 1-0 but a few minutes into the second half Monrovia knotted it up 1-1 and that would true until the end of regulation. In sectionals however that doesn’t mean the end of the game and the Vikings then had to figure out how to win in a 14 minute timeframe. Skyler Page tracked down a loose ball and had just enough of a window to rip a shot off from 25 yards out which inevitably curled into the near post.

Vikings win the opening round 2-1 (OT) and play Sullivan tonight at 715pm at Edgewood.

Aiden Rubinacci had 13 saves
