Game Recap

It was senior night for the girls soccer team. We honored 3 very special seniors, Chrislyn Marrs, Shelby Joy, and Sam Liffick. The first 15 minutes of the first half was some of the best soccer the lady Vikes have played! They were making passes, taking shots, and really working together as a team. Shelby Joy scored the first goal of the game within the first 15 minutes from outside the 18. We ended the half 1-0. Abby Scott and Annalyse Dooley were taking shots, and putting pressure on their defense. Emma Stevens and Sam were making some great runs, and passing the ball back into the center half of the field. Mary Paige Mason had a great shot, and some wonderful throw-ins. Caitlyn Wyrick played a tremendous game at center defender, playing the ball back into the offensive half. Kaitlyn Ray used her speed on defense to keep the opposing team away from Chrislyn. Gabby Buckallew was making great steals, and also sending the ball back to the offensive half. Alissa Rzepski kept her composure, and made smart decisions at sweeper, making beautiful passes and taking great touches. Chrislyn Marrs has had a wonderful year in the net. She ended the game with 9 saves, making her total saves 124 for the year. Shelby Joy ended her regular season scoring her 19th and 20th goal today, tying her record from last year. This team has also beat a record from the previous year, scoring 43 goals this season. This was a good game to lead us into sectionals on Tuesday against Northview.
