Girls Varsity Soccer · Buckallew Signs with SMWC

Congratulations to Paige Buckallew as she signed her letter of intent to play soccer at St. Mary of the Woods College this fall.

SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. – Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College head women’s soccer coach Mike Aycock is proud to announce the signing of Paige Buckallew to the 2017-18 class.

“Paige is a good fit for us in many ways. She’s a very good student, is athletic and physical, and has club and high school experience that will stand her in good stead in stepping up to the college game,” stated coach Aycock. “I have been very impressed with her leadership experience and her commitment in high school, and look forward very much to seeing her take her place on this team.”

Buckallew, who will graduate from West Vigo High School, earned four varsity letters with the Vikings and served as team captain her senior year. She earned an academic letter for her efforts in the classroom and was also a track and dance student-athlete.

“I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I am honored that coach Aycock will have me be a part of his team,” stated Buckallew. “I am also thankful for my family and all of the support they have given to push myself to be the best that I can be.”

Buckallew plans to major in K-6 education and minor in mild intervention. She is the daughter of Brian and Cheryl Buckallew.
