“Some of my fondest memories of high school athletics include: going to Rax before games for roast beef sandwiches, volleyball two a days in the steaming hot gym, doing basketball sprints over winter break when it was so cold your lungs throbbed, and always trying to have the fastest stair lap. I will never forget all the rivalries and hoping to always take out North and South in post season. Winning softball Sectionals my senior year is still a moment I can recall with clarity. I will always remember the wonderful guidance I received from Coach Hatcher, Coach Brackall and Coach Barrett. They helped to push and develop me to be my best in sports and in life. Further, the friends I made through athletics while at West are lifetime friends. Most importantly, I am so thankful for my family. My parents were there to support and guide me through every life event while growing up and sacrificed so much so that I could participate in the activities I loved. My sister, Cherish, was also a huge blessing (even though we didn’t always get along during high school). She always pushed me to be a better athlete, teammate and role model. I will never forget the opportunities and blessings I was given because of the wonderful environment of athletics at West Vigo.”
